Our approach
The first consultation
This session usually runs over 90 min and allows me to gain complete insight into your pain condition. From here we will discuss how your pain works and map out a management plan moving forward.
Recent X-rays, CT scans or MRI reports.
Please bring along any recent X-rays, CT scans or MRI reports.
You will also be asked to complete a short questionnaire before the session as this will help me know you a little better beforehand so that most of the session can be used for what is important.
Pain education is an invaluable first step in your pain management plan and therefore a significant portion of the session will be spent on helping you understand your pain.
Interventional Pain Procedures
The practice offers a multitude of procedures that can either be performed during the in-room consultation or in theatre under sedation. After the initial consult and assessment, more details of these procedures can be discussed. These procedures allow pain relief by targeting local causes of pain but are limited to certain pain conditions.
Chronic pain management rehabilitation program
It is highly recommended to complete this course as part of your pain management plan. The course allows sessions with our whole team consisting of Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Psychology all wrapped up into a single course for your convenience instead of seeking these vital therapy sessions separately. The course consists of one session per week over four weeks.
